Toasted Pumpkin Seeds  (Pepitas)




1/4  cup raw pumpkin seeds

1/2 tsp. avocado oil

1/2 tsp sea salt

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/8 to 1/4 tsp ground black pepper, adjust to personal taste

sprinkle of cayenne pepper, optional

These pumpkin seeds are great for topping a salad, soup, or just snacking on alone.  They have a robust salt and pepper flavor.  If you are wanting more of a kick you can add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper.  I would probably reduce the ground black pepper if you are going to add the cayenne.  

*** Note that you should roast the seeds before you add the seasoning.  



1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Toss the pumpkin seeds with the oil and place on a baking dish in a single layer

3. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring occassionally

4. Remove from oven and toss with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper

5. Let cool
